Meanwhile, for me, who visits Austria once a year, prices are amazingly low given the context. I’ve said this before – time and time again I see industrial products (cameras, washing machines) cheaper in some Austrian supermarket (20% VAT) than in Singapore (7% VAT). I attribute this to EU economies of scale, including banking industry economies of scale thanks to the Euro. But I am alone in this thinking.
